Solution Architect – KYC / Mortgages

Role Overview

We are looking for a Solution Architect to design resilient, scalable, and sustainable solutions for business and IT challenges, with a focus on KYC and/or Mortgages. The role involves working closely with Business, IT, Engineering, Domain Architects, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end architecture aligned with ING Belgium and Group strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for KYC and/or Mortgage capabilities.

• Translate business requirements into sustainable technology solutions.

• Design solutions in collaboration with Engineers and Domain Architects and guide implementation.

• Manage dependencies and align roadmaps across squads and Tribes.

• Ensure regulatory requirements, business processes, data flows, and IT solutions evolve coherently.

• Define architecture principles covering data, privacy, security, scalability, performance, resilience, cost, and ethics.

• Document architectural decisions and balance functional and non-functional requirements.

• Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for engineering and product teams.

• Drive platform modernization through modular architecture, clear interfaces, persistence, configuration management, and monitoring.

• Support process digitalization and orchestration-driven customer and operational journeys.

• Enable AI and automation capabilities, including AI-assisted processes, agentic AI, APIs, and document information extraction.

Mandatory Skills

• experience in Solution Architecture, Software Engineering, or IT Delivery.

• Strong experience in solution design and architecture.

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Strong knowledge of architecture principles, data, security, privacy, scalability, performance, and resilience.

• Experience designing end-to-end solutions.

• Proficient in English.

• Dutch or French language proficiency.

• Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable challenging assumptions.

Good to Have

• Experience in KYC and/or Mortgage domains.

• Banking/financial services technology experience.

• TOGAF / ArchiMate certification.

• Public Cloud certification/experience.

• Experience with platform modernization, process digitalization, APIs, AI/automation, and modular architecture.
