Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer – West Flanders, Belgium

Working model: 4 days on-site per week

The Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering team in West Flanders.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience and, importantly, hands-on experience working with PTC Creo 9.

You will be involved in the development and optimisation of mechanical designs, working closely with engineering and project teams to deliver technically robust solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify detailed mechanical designs using PTC Creo 9
• Create and maintain 3D models and technical drawings
• Translate technical requirements into practical mechanical solutions
• Collaborate with engineering, production and project teams
• Support the development and improvement of existing products and machinery
• Ensure designs meet technical, quality and production requirements
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical issues

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Specific experience with PTC Creo 9 is required
• Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design skills
• Experience creating detailed technical drawings
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• Able to work independently in a freelance environment
• Available to work 4 days per week on-site in West Flanders
• Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English
