Scrum Master

Scrum Master Expert | Complex Banking Environment |

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master Expert to lead a squad within a complex international banking environment.

This is not a role limited to facilitating Agile ceremonies. You will take an active role in delivery leadership, cross-functional dependency management, continuous improvement and stakeholder coordination within an ecosystem of 200+ squads and a highly interdependent architecture.

What you will do

Agile Excellence & DevOps

Ensure effective application of Agile and DevOps practices within the squad

Facilitate key ceremonies including Daily, Sprint Planning, Review and Retrospective

Build a culture of trust, transparency and continuous feedback

Coach team members individually and collectively

Drive continuous improvement and challenge the team to raise its level of performance

Delivery & Dependency Management

Take end-to-end responsibility for feature delivery, including features requiring contributions from multiple squads and tribes

Navigate a complex organisational environment to identify and remove bottlenecks

Understand technical issues and architecture diagrams sufficiently to engage the right technical stakeholders

Ensure rigorous follow-up from development through to production

Leadership

Go beyond simply executing the Scrum Master role: challenge the squad to continuously improve

Proactively identify and communicate risks and issues to management

Combine squad empowerment with a strong, hands-on leadership approach

Act as a catalyst for collaboration across teams and organisational boundaries

International & Distributed Teams

Lead and support an international, multicultural squad

Work effectively with both onshore and offshore team members, particularly colleagues based in India

Ensure remote and relocated team members remain fully integrated into the squad and its ways of working

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a large and complex organisation , ideally within banking, insurance, telecom or another large-scale enterprise environment

Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps principles

Genuine technical/IT affinity and the ability to understand architecture, technical dependencies and IT-related issues

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Natural leadership, initiative and confidence to challenge the status quo

Ability to operate effectively within large-scale governance, processes and multi-team delivery structures

Proven experience managing multicultural and partially offshored teams

Fluent English is imperative

French and/or Dutch are highly appreciated

This role is particularly suited to someone who:

Has experience coordinating delivery across multiple squads and teams

Is comfortable operating in a complex organisational and technical landscape

Takes ownership rather than waiting for problems to be escalated

Has the confidence to challenge both the squad and management constructively

Combines Agile expertise with strong delivery and leadership capabilities
