Java Software Engineer

As a Software Product Developer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and continuously improving software products used to control our testing machines. You contribute to the development of a future-oriented and scalable software architecture, translating customer needs, market insights, and technological advancements into sustainable software solutions.

Working closely with fellow software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, you ensure that our software products remain reliable, innovative, and user-friendly, while continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software products and software components within the ATS software platform.
• Translate functional requirements and customer needs into high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Actively contribute to the further development of the software architecture and product standards.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate market needs and customer expectations into product enhancements and new features.
• Promote the reusability and standardization of software components across projects and regions.
• Support the implementation and validation of software solutions through simulation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical support to project teams, field service engineers, and customers in resolving complex technical challenges.
• Monitor emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability within our software products.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, software quality, and innovation within the team.
• Occasionally provide on-site support at customer locations, suppliers, or sister companies when required for product validation or implementation.

Profile & Skills:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
• Strong interest in software development, software architecture, and product innovation.
• Solid knowledge of Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW is a plus.
• Ability to translate complex technical challenges into user-friendly and sustainable solutions.
• Understanding of software design principles, software lifecycle management, and quality standards.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a structured and methodical approach.
• Team player who collaborates effectively with software developers, Product Management, Operations, and customers.
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
