Application Support Engineer

About the Role

NISH Tech BV is looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to support the deployment, operation and maintenance of in-house applications within a complex enterprise IT environment. You will work across Linux, Windows Server, IIS, SQL and infrastructure technologies, ensuring applications are deployed reliably and remain available across Acceptance and Production environments.

The role combines application support, system administration, deployment, troubleshooting and infrastructure operations. You will work closely with IT teams, application owners, infrastructure teams and external vendors, while contributing to Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and update in-house applications across Acceptance and Production environments, primarily using Windows IIS and SQL.
• Support the architecture, setup and deployment of new applications.
• Provide 2nd-line application support and contribute to 2nd/3rd-level troubleshooting when required.
• Deploy and support applications on Linux Red Hat and Windows Server environments.
• Analyse application and system logs and troubleshoot technical incidents.
• Configure F5 load-balancing VIPs for web applications.
• Support and maintain shared technologies such as RabbitMQ and Redis Cache.
• Contribute to and validate Disaster Recovery Plans and Business Continuity Plans.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health and ensure reliable service operation.
• Collaborate with IT clients, infrastructure teams, application teams and external vendors to resolve incidents and technical issues.
• Maintain accurate installation, operational and technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of application support and deployment processes.
• Contribute to the security, availability and operational stability of supported applications.

Required Skills

Mandatory Skills

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Application Support, System Administration, Infrastructure Support or a similar role.
• Strong recent experience with Linux Red Hat, including application deployment, log analysis, system health monitoring and scripting.
• Strong experience with Windows Server 2012–2022.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft IIS and web application deployment.
• Good knowledge of PowerShell.
• Understanding of firewalls and network load balancing.
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
• Customer-oriented, pragmatic and solution-focused approach.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies.

Languages & Practical Requirements

• Fluent English
• Fluent French or Dutch.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car.
• Mobile phone required for the duty/standby role.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 duty rotation, approximately 1 week every 6 weeks.
