The Role:

We are currently working with an innovative technology company based in Liege, specialising in advanced image processing and imaging systems. They are looking to strengthen their R&D team with an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer.

This role is particularly suited to an engineer with a strong background in low-level embedded software, firmware and bare-metal development, who enjoys working close to the hardware and contributing to technically challenging products.

You will work closely with the hardware and R&D teams to develop, integrate and optimise embedded software for sophisticated imaging systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++
• Develop software for STM32 and other microcontroller-based platforms
• Work on bare-metal and low-level embedded development
• Develop and integrate firmware with electronic hardware
• Work closely with hardware engineers throughout the development lifecycle
• Debug and troubleshoot software at both hardware and firmware level
• Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
• Optimise embedded software for performance, reliability and resource constraints
• Support hardware/software integration and validation
• Contribute to the development of new and existing imaging technologies

Profile:

• 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
• Strong C and/or C++ programming skills
• Solid experience with microcontroller development
• Strong bare-metal / firmware development experience
• Experience with STM32 or comparable microcontrollers
• Good understanding of hardware/software interfaces and embedded systems
• Experience debugging embedded systems at a low level
• Embedded Linux is a plus
• French-Speaking is a preference
