Data Engineer – Azure & Databricks

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the data organization of a leading European energy and electricity transmission organization. You will work within an Agile product team, developing reliable data solutions that support business needs and improve the quality, accessibility and usability of enterprise data.

The role focuses on building data pipelines, data enrichments, efficient storage structures and analytical solutions, with strong exposure to Azure, Databricks, SQL Server and Python. You will collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders, contribute to testing and DevOps practices, and help create reusable and well-documented data products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines.
• Develop data enrichments using Python in Databricks.
• Work with SQL Server for data processing and management.
• Implement Azure-based data solutions.
• Work with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Contribute to solutions using Azure Functions and Azure Stream/Log Analytics where required.
• Develop efficient storage structures and analytical data solutions.
• Support data exchange endpoints for business users.
• Contribute to data governance activities such as glossary, modelling, lineage and data quality.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Present reusable and integrated data solutions.
• Participate in extensive testing and strengthen DevOps practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Continuously improve data solutions and promote reuse across the enterprise.
• Contribute to Agile product-team objectives and overall product success.

Required Skills

Mandatory / Core Skills

• Strong Data Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in at least 2 relevant technical categories specified in the JD.
• SQL Server.
• Azure data services / Azure Databricks.
• Python for data pipelines or data enrichment.
• Data pipeline development.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Product-oriented mindset.
• Fluent English.
