Salary: €3,600–€5,000 gross/month + insurance + equity options

The Opportunity

We’re working with an exciting, early-stage computer vision and imaging startup operating at the intersection of animal welfare, healthcare and AI.

The company is developing innovative technology that uses advanced imaging, computer vision and machine learning to solve meaningful challenges within animal health and welfare. With a strong product vision and ambitious plans for growth, the company is currently undergoing a funding round and is looking for a Founding Engineer to join the team at a pivotal stage of its journey.

This is an opportunity to become a key technical contributor from an early stage, helping shape the architecture, product and engineering culture as the business scales.

The Role

As a Founding Full Stack Engineer, you’ll take ownership across the technology stack, working closely with the founding team to continue developing and scaling the company's MPC and mobile application, while introducing new features and capabilities.

You’ll have significant autonomy and influence over technical decisions, architecture and product development. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys moving quickly, solving complex problems and working across disciplines rather than being confined to a single area of the stack.

You’ll be involved in everything from building polished user-facing experiences to developing backend services, cloud infrastructure and AI/computer vision capabilities.

What You'll Be Working With

• React / TypeScript for modern web application development
• Node.js / TypeScript for backend services and APIs
• Python for machine learning, computer vision and data processing
• AWS for cloud infrastructure, deployment and scalable services
• Computer vision and imaging technologies
• Machine learning and AI pipelines
• Mobile application development and supporting infrastructure
• APIs, databases and distributed/cloud-based systems

What You'll Do

• Continue developing and enhancing the company's existing MPC and mobile applications
• Design and implement new product features from concept through to production
• Build scalable, maintainable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js and Python
• Develop and integrate computer vision and machine learning capabilities
• Work with imaging data and AI-driven workflows
• Design and develop APIs and backend services
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and services within AWS
• Help establish robust engineering practices as the company scales
• Make architectural and technical decisions with long-term product growth in mind
• Collaborate closely with founders, product and other technical stakeholders
• Take ownership of projects and drive them from idea to delivery
• Help shape the technical direction, engineering culture and future team

What They're Looking For

They're looking for a strong generalist engineer who is comfortable operating across the stack and is excited by the opportunity to have genuine ownership in an early-stage company.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
• Solid backend development experience with Node.js
• Strong Python development skills
• Experience working with AWS
• An understanding of or hands-on experience with machine learning and/or computer vision
• Experience working with imaging, image processing or computer vision is highly desirable
• Experience building and consuming APIs
• A strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices
• The ability to work independently and make pragmatic technical decisions
• A product-focused mindset and willingness to get involved wherever needed
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment

You don't need to be an expert in every technology listed. We're particularly interested in engineers who are curious, adaptable and capable of learning quickly, with a genuine interest in AI, computer vision and the application of technology to healthcare and animal welfare.
