u-blox is a global fabless semiconductor and modules business operating in three key areas: GNSS positioning, short-range communications systems and cellular communications systems. We develop IP and full custom ASICs for use within a comprehensive range of chipset and module products.
As a Senior IC Physical Design Engineer at u-blox you are supporting the core of u-blox’s cutting edge technology being part of the innovation process that happens far before the market introduction of our new positioning products, which are seen as the reference in the market and where competition is trying to catch-up.
With your experience and profound knowledge, you’ll be responsible for the state-of-the-art RTL to GDS2 implementation, for achieving best possible area/speed/power trade-off within schedule, by addressing problems promptly, anticipating problems and using your profound analytical skills.

Solid grasp of the concepts related to synthesis, P&R, CTS, timing convergence, EMIR checks, and signoff DRC/LVS closure.
Expertise in optimizing cost functions including performance, power and area.
Foster team cohesion and solving problems efficiently with your excellent communication skills

Your Skills and Experience Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
>5 years of experience in physical design with emphasis on 22 nm process nodes
Proven track record of delivering tape-out quality GDS2 with silicon success.
Solid understanding of digital circuit design and Verilog/VHDL
Excellent analytical skills and used to work independently and precisely.
Fluent in English
Swiss-, UK-, EU-citizen or valid work permit
