JOB PURPOSE
Manage a team of credit risk specialists and credit risk analysts to ensure that credit risk policies, procedures, and standards are observed and adhered.
Implement strategies to improve the performance of a risk portfolio.
The Head of Credit Risks is responsible for credit risk within a certain sector and responsible for special management.
The Head of Credit Risk reports to the Group Director Credit Risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and/or deliver a contingency plan for significant aspects of the credit risk management and/or control process and within a sector.
Financial Management and Control
Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of the financial management and/or control process.
Policies and Procedures Development
Draft policies, procedures, and related guidelines within an area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.
Analyze and assess the risks associated with products/individual applications/new business areas/the market to quantify risk and ensure it is within the agreed risk appetite.
Leadership and Direction
Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these
and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
Data Collection and Analysis
Make authoritative recommendations that have a significant impact on the business over the short and long term. Recommendations could be technical or professional in nature.
Performance Management
Develop and propose performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance.
Audit Compliance
Manage a portfolio of audit assignments, ensuring that the team plans and delivers audits that cover identified risk areas and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed on with auditees.
Resolve issues arising from audits and refer serious or contentious issues to the audit program leader.
Operational Compliance
Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards.
Profile
• You support Triodos Bank's mission.
• You have a university degree (or equivalent through experience) and extensive work experience in the field of credit risk.
• You have a strong sense of responsibility, a good understanding of the regulations and good judgement
• You are able to understand complex business structures. You have a good understanding of the financial aspects of different business entities and the mechanisms of a financial balance sheet. You can think strategically and process-wise. Experience with the implementation of complex projects and programs is a plus.
• You can question ideas in a constructive way and propose alternatives.
• Strong numerical insight, e.g. for risk simulations, is an asset.
• You are bilingual and an excellent English-speaking communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will build good working relationships, which is essential for your intense collaboration with Front Office.
• You are an efficient team player who can convince.
